What is ToolStack?
ToolStack is an app designed to help you manage your tool inventory, track important details like serial numbers, and keep everything organized. You can store tool information, generate reports, and keep your data secure and accessible.
Can I use ToolStack offline?
Yes! ToolStack works seamlessly offline. You can continue adding and managing your tools even when you’re not connected to the internet. All updates are saved locally and will sync once you’re back online.
How can I export my tool inventory?
ToolStack allows you to export your entire tool inventory in beautifully formatted PDF reports. These reports can be used for insurance claims, audits, or police reports in case of theft, and are fully customizable to suit your needs.
Does ToolStack support Face ID and PIN for security?
Yes! ToolStack allows you to protect your tool inventory with Face ID or a 4-digit PIN. You can choose the security option that best suits you, ensuring that your tool information remains protected from unauthorized access.
What tools are available in the app?
As a bonus, ToolStack includes digital tools like a Two-Way Communicator for offline messaging, a Laser Level, a Stud Finder, a Mileage Recorder, a Conversion Tool, and a Visual Measurer. These tools make it even easier to work efficiently and accurately on the go.
Can I track my mileage with ToolStack?
Yes! ToolStack includes a Mileage Recorder to track your trips and distances, making it perfect for work-related travel. You can log your trips and use the data for expense tracking or reporting.
How do I add tools to my inventory?
Adding tools is easy! You can scan the serial number directly from the tool’s label using your device’s camera, or manually input the tool’s details such as name, brand, and purchase information.
How do I restore my data on a new device?
If you get a new device, ToolStack supports iCloud backups, ensuring all your tool data is easily restored.
Follow these steps
1. Log in to Toolstack on your new device
2. Restore your subscription (if prompted)
3. Go to iCloud Backup in the settings tab and tap restore (don’t worry that the system says it’s never backed up,
it’s a new device, so it won’t hold that information yet
4. The app will exit automatically. This is normal; you must log back in again, so the restore can be done properly
5. You should be back to normal now
Is ToolStack compatible with dark mode?
Sorry, currently it does not, but we will address this in a future update
Can I share my tool inventory with others?
Currently, ToolStack is designed for personal tool management. While direct sharing features are not available, you can export your inventory as a PDF report and share it via email or other channels.

Can I store photos of my tools?
Yes! ToolStack allows you to upload and store photos of your tools. These images will be included in your tool records and can be exported in PDF reports, making it easy to keep track of your valuable tools.
How do I update my tool information?
To update your tool information, simply select the tool from your inventory and edit the relevant details, including name, serial number, purchase date, and more. Hit save, and then you’re done
Can I track tool usage over time?
While ToolStack doesn’t currently track specific usage data, you can update each tool’s status manually to keep a record of any maintenance or usage changes.
Can I sort and filter my tool inventory?
Yes! ToolStack provides sorting and filtering options, enabling you to organize your inventory by various attributes, such as name, type, brand, or purchase date, for easier access.
Can I use ToolStack for managing other types of equipment?
ToolStack is designed specifically for managing tools, but you can adapt it for other types of equipment by entering relevant information in the tool details. For example, you can manage electronics, machinery, or other assets similarly.
What is the “Two-Way Communicator” feature?
The Two-Way Site Communicator is an offline messaging tool within ToolStack. It allows you to communicate in remote areas where you don’t have a cellular or internet connection, ensuring you can stay in touch with others during your projects.

How do I use the Laser Level tool?
The Laser Level tool in ToolStack helps you measure and align objects accurately. You can use it to ensure everything is level when setting up shelves, hanging artwork, or conducting construction tasks.
How can I check my tool’s warranty or service history?
ToolStack doesn’t currently track warranties or service history directly, but you can manually enter any relevant dates or notes into your tool’s record, including warranty expiration or service updates.
How does ToolStack keep my data safe?
ToolStack provides built-in security features, including Face ID and PIN protection, to ensure your tool inventory remains private and secure. Additionally, all your data is backed up via encrypted iCloud storage, so you can rest assured that your tool records are safe and recoverable.
