This policy explains how First Notification Limited, trading as ToolStack, handles personal information when you use the ToolStack website, app and support services.
1. Who we are
The data controller is First Notification Limited, trading as ToolStack, registered in England and Wales under company number 08562625. Our registered office is Leonard House, 5-7 Newman Road, Bromley, Kent, BR1 1RJ, UK. You can contact us at info@toolstack.co.uk.
2. Information we may process
Website information
- Technical information routinely produced when a website is requested, such as IP address, browser/device details and server logs.
- Website usage information through Google Analytics only if you consent to analytics.
- Information you send to us by email or through support enquiries.
ToolStack app and account information
- Account/profile details you provide, such as your name and email address.
- Tool records you choose to create, including photos, serial numbers, purchase details, receipts, values, notes and identifying information.
- Location information when you use a feature that records location and you have allowed the relevant device permission.
- Mileage and journey records you choose to create.
- Support communications and diagnostic information you provide when asking for help.
- Subscription entitlement/status information needed to recognise access to paid features. Payment card details are handled by Apple rather than ToolStack.
Face ID and device biometrics: if you enable biometric app access, authentication is handled by Apple on your device. ToolStack does not receive or store your Face ID or fingerprint template.
3. Why we use personal information
Where a feature relies on your consent or an iOS permission, you can withdraw that consent or change the permission at any time. This may stop that feature from working.
4. iCloud, Apple and third-party services
ToolStack uses Apple platform services for distribution, subscriptions and supported backup/restore functions. Where you use iCloud, information is handled through your Apple account and Apple’s services. Your use of Apple services is also subject to Apple’s own terms and privacy information.
If you allow website analytics, Google Analytics is loaded after consent to help us understand website visits and improve the site. We configure analytics without Google Signals or advertising-personalisation signals.
5. Who we share information with
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information where necessary with service providers that help us operate ToolStack, including hosting/technical providers, Apple platform services and, only after website consent, Google Analytics. We may also disclose information to professional advisers, regulators, courts or law-enforcement bodies where required or permitted by law.
6. International transfers
Some service providers may process information outside the UK. Where UK data-protection law requires safeguards for an international transfer, we use an applicable adequacy decision, recognised contractual safeguards or another lawful transfer mechanism.
7. How long we keep information
We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, including providing your account and service, resolving support issues, maintaining security, and meeting legal or accounting obligations. Records you control in the app can be deleted using the available app controls. Retention within Apple/iCloud services is also affected by your Apple account and Apple settings.
8. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures intended to protect personal information. No system can be guaranteed completely secure, so you should also protect your device, Apple account and ToolStack credentials and keep appropriate backups.
9. Your UK data-protection rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights to access, correct, erase or restrict personal information, object to certain processing, receive portable data, and withdraw consent where consent is the basis for processing. To exercise a right, email info@toolstack.co.uk. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
10. Complaints
Please contact us first if you have a privacy concern. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO). You can find current contact and complaint information at ico.org.uk.
11. Children
ToolStack is intended for users aged 16 or over and is not designed as a service for children under 16.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when our services, technology or legal obligations change. The current version will be published here with its updated date.
